A New Chapter for Laguna Golf Phuket: Daniel Green Joins as Director of Agronomy

With over 35 years of international experience in golf course construction, renovation, grow-in and management, Daniel joins Laguna Golf Phuket with an impressive career that spans Thailand, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean. His expertise will be instrumental in the ongoing development and maintenance of the resort’s 18-hole, par-71 championship course.
Daniel begin his career in greenkeeping before completing a three-year Golf Course Operations programme at Lake City Community College in Florida, where he earned an Associate of Science degree in Golf Course Operations. Over the years, he has held senior positions at renowned golf facilities in Thailand, including Blue Canyon Country Club, Chee Chan Golf Resort and Alpine Golf & Sports Club. His experience spans across Thailand, Myanmar, China, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and Mauritius, where he has worked on golf course construction, renovation, grow-in and ongoing management. He has also been involved in preparing courses for major professional tournaments, including the first two Abu Dhabi Golf Championships, which have added valuable tournament and high-performance course experience to his portfolio. For Laguna Golf Phuket, Daniel’s combination of technical expertise, international experience, and a deep understanding of tropical golf environments provides a strong foundation for the course’s next phase of development. In his new role, he will work closely with the agronomy team to maintain consistently high playing conditions while supporting the course’s long-term development.
