Dear Members,
With the rainy season arriving a little earlier than expected this year, I am excited to share significant progress has been made on our facility upgrade projects. In addition, we look forward to some fantastic upcoming events at Laguna Golf Phuket.
Bridge 17, the showers in the men’s locker room showers, Banyan Café Toilets, and the driving range shaded area structure have now all been completed.
Please note that the restoration of the men’s lockers has been rescheduled to June 10 – 20 to minimize disruption. We kindly ask all members with lockers to clear them by June 9, 2025. Any items left behind will be safely stored during the restoration period.
We are thrilled to once again be hosting the 7th edition of the Singha Laguna Phuket Open from May 22 – 25, 2025, This event will once again be co-sanctioned between the All-Thailand Golf Tour and Asian Development Tour and feature some of the best up and coming golfers in the region.
Please note that the golf course and driving range will be closed from May 19 – 25 and will reopen for normal operations from Monday, May 26th.
Laguna Golf Phuket Members can take advantage of Special Green Fee rates at other selected Phuket courses during this period by showing their Laguna Golf Phuket membership cards upon check-in.
The Amazing Thailand Caddies Championship will once again take place at Laguna on June 9, where 140 Caddies from around Thailand, including 20 from Laguna will compete for a place in the Country Final at Laem Chabang International later this year.

PGA Academy Update
As a Principal Partner of the PGA, we are restructuring our instructional team to align with the high standards of a PGA Academy. Going forwards, all instructors will be PGA Qualified or enrolled in the PGA training program, ensuring top tier instruction and a world class experience for our members and guests.
As part of this transition, we bid a fond farewell to our teaching professionals Matt Richardson and Jeff Craig, who are moving on to new ventures. We thank them both sincerely for their contributions, hard work, and dedication during their association with Laguna Golf Phuket.
Online Tee Time Booking
We encourage members to book online and take advantage of the online tee time booking feature which is now available for both members and visitors to book and pay for tee times, all members can start booking tee times using this feature by visiting
Initially you will need to sign up and create an account using the same email that is registered with the club.
This online booking function will allow you to book a tee time for up to 4 people.
If one member wants to book a flight of 4 members, he/she will need to know the registered email addresses of each of the members in the flight to make the booking. Make sure to customize your booking by adding a caddie and buggy in the “Extras” section before clicking confirm.
Once the booking is confirmed you will receive a booking confirmation email, and as usual, caddie fees and buggy fees will need to be settled in the Pro shop upon arrival. The payment feature is now available, allowing you to book and pay immediately for a smoother one-stop booking process
Please note at this time, members who wish to book a specific caddie will still need to do so through the Pro shop.
Course Maintenance in May
Slice and Dice and Roll
When I first took over the golf maintenance department, I observed that while the greens appeared dense and healthy, they lacked consistency and a true roll.
After measuring and recording green speeds on all greens daily, it became apparent that speeds differed considerably between greens on the front and back nine holes.
To address this, we began a light weekly Verti cutting program using a 3-gang mower equipped with a Verti cutting unit. This thins out the turf, reduces friction between the ball and the surface, and enhances roll quality. Agronomically, this also helps to remove dead leaf material and minimize thatch buildup.
Additionally, we have introduced a weekly rolling schedule using a ride on roller to improve surface smoothness and consistency. By combining these two basic procedures and incorporating them into our routine program, the standard and consistency of the greens will continue to improve.
In preparation for the upcoming 2025 Singha Laguna Phuket Open, the following maintenance will be done:
May 6 – 8 : Light top dress and solid tine of greens
May 12 – 14 : Light top dress and solid tine of greens
Our Annual Greens Coring will take place from June 10 – 13
June 10 & 11 : Front 9 Open Only / Back 9 Closed
June 12 & 13 : Back 9 Open Only / Front 9 Closed
The approximate recovery time for the greens will be 3 weeks.
